Paragon GE is looking for a Business Development Engineer for a staff position with an Oil & Gas company in the UAE.

Candidates must have at least 5 years’ work experience in Oil & Gas Electrical / Control system design and implementation in the Upstream Oil and Gas sector. Candidates must have extensive experience with business development activities and a history of successfully attracting new business.

As an Effective member of client’s Sales team, the successful candidate will be an active participant to follow strategic corporate priorities and will be responsible for delivering the Techno-Commercial and social framework in which many of those strategies will be effectively realized.

The successful candidate will work closely with Executive team in creating and developing innovative project solutions to a wide and complex range of business needs relating to global clientele.

The successful candidate will be a Sales minded thinker capable of increasing sales pipeline by growing a business network, fostering new relationships, and discovering new opportunities for sales.
 
  • Develop new business relationships by presenting potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, telephone calls and/or emails and provide direction, guidance and to ensure alignment with the strategies.
  • Develop Commercial proposals through collaboration between project team and technical team members.
  • Identify new opportunities and generate opportunities to bid on work.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new ventures with company strategies and operations, examine risks and potentials, estimating needs and goals and closes new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching the industry and related events, publications and announcements. Track individual contributors and their accomplishments, screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
  • Coordinate the project consultant’s activities with all Department and executives, effectively interact with other departments including the project and technical team when handing over campaigns ensuring they are fully and correctly briefed in all aspects.
  • Helps to prepare the annual Business Development Plan, as well as the annual Work Plan and define and follow up of yearly targets and objectives. Generate and negotiate new income to attain annual target set and to increase year after year.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities, in coordination with the Executive Team who shall create the methods and the tools necessary to execute the task and activities required.
  • Pro?actively hunt for target organizations and establish communications with those businesses that can benefit from company’s services. Develop and maintains relationships with customers to gain knowledge of future market and customer needs, produce marketing analysis and reports/presentations to division and group management as needed.
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments and establishes the training requirement for the organization as required.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Attends to training courses, seminars, etc. as required by company.

Success
  • Success will be measured against revenue targets set by Executive Team members.

Job Requirements
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
  • At least 5 years’ work experience in Oil & Gas Electrical / Control system design and implementation. 
  • Thorough knowledge in identifying new opportunities, technologies, accounts and customer and ability to review technical challenges and new applications.
  • Can develop commercial proposals and negotiate contacts with customers, prioritize and track business development projects and new product launches.
  • Middle East experience is a MUST
  • Early Production Facility and Produced Water experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and with strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure with daily reporting discipline
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with client or customers and pro?active self?starter who can operate both individually and can work within a cross functional team.
  • Ability to develop solutions to customer problems and translate the solutions into business development strategies and products.
  • Ability to co?ordinate and improve the pitch process by effectively providing the relevant teams with both a detailed summary of clients technical and marketing needs plus applying previous knowledge / experience in order to obtain relevant assessment strategy recommendations.
  • High commercial insight and record of confidence in dealing with middle managers.
  • Multi?language capability is desirable, Arabic is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable being a leader representing a diverse portfolio of critical expertise to the organization
  • Forward thinker that is passionate and energetic; able to think creatively and independently with a natural ability to motivate others
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, influence decision making and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of project management principles.
  • Proficient with computers
