Paragon GE is looking for a Production Operations Manager for a position with an E&P company in Egypt.
This is a direct hire position and will be offered on a 28x28 rotation.
Candidates must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in production operations with focus on offshore oil and gas operations and a minimum of 5 years leadership experience leading diverse Operations teams. Candidates must be hands on and have experience leading operations teams for international exploration and production companies. Candidates must also have experience with JV operations.

Job Purpose
- Sets clear direction in line with the Performance Contract, oversee the team for execution, and continuous follow-ups.
- Responsible for safe, reliable and compliant production. Activities managed include all site & share holder activities, production, operational integrity, planned shutdowns/turnarounds, well-intervention, pipeline survey and repair, diving, and emergency-response.
- Manage and optimize spend at site, keeping plant running safely and smoothly while protecting the company rights.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management
- Support and/or be the Incident Commander for ERT's to ensure the priorities of people and risk management endures during the emergency response situations.
- Lead the national teams and staff in sustaining and extending the progress made in areas of HSE, process safety, operational integrity, planning and competence.
- Lead many site meetings and must deliver with a considered style in order to ensure that the meetings remain well structured, all issues are raised and addressed, and all the team understand and agree on the required actions.
- Set priority for production, project and construction which are fundamental to ensuring the correct focus is given to both safety and production.
- A key focus of the Performance Contract is the development of front-line supervision in the management of HSE, Process Safety and Production.
Risk management and integrity
- Manage risk associated with our operations through procedures, risk assessment, control of work, SIMPOS management and dispensation review processes.
- Manage the process safety, ensuring that process safety is not only embedded but is understood by all staff, provide the leadership, support, drive and energy within the team to make Process Safety “business as usual” and be able to demonstrate year on year improvement through PSIM.
- Ensure mitigations are adhered to and risk reduced where risk elimination is not possible.
- Embed systematic and sustainable process safety and integrity management systems within Company operations.
- Leading the audit process to ensure the application of all agreed mitigations and actions are embedded.
Production optimization
- Lead the optimisation of business through sustaining production and efficient execution of work plans and programs.
- Lead TAR process including and not limited to set up plan, SIMPOS, shut down minimization and recourses optimization.
- Manage offshore and onshore activities with setting priorities and time frame.
- Overseen well work activities to ensure minimal effect on production and safe operation.
Budget control
- Deliver company goals including production, work plan with budget optimization.
- Optimize purchase requisitions and ensure effectiveness of ordering process through MAXIMO.
- Deliver maintenance and overhaul plans and execution with production target plan and budget limitation.
Job Factors
Minimum Education Level Required
Engineering or Science based Degree.
The minimum years of experience required (All qualification listed Must be job related)
Minimum 15 years in operational environments, with strong offshore focus. Brown-field experience and working with integrity challenges.
Personal Attributes
- A strong technical and offshore and onshore operations background is essential, along with a convincing track-record of leading staff to sustained improvements in Site Management, Operations, HSE and production performance.
- Ability to liaise closely and lead all departments offshore and onshore.
- Sensitivity combined with hard-edged determination is needed to lead the team towards the level of disciplined operational performance promised.
- Strength-of-character sufficient to relentlessly drive forward on the basics of prudent operation.
- Flexibility is required to deliver management leadership, and also to provide direct technical input, frequently at a very detailed level.
- Considering the size of the offshore operation, and its remote location, managing resources and logistics planning are areas of utmost importance.
- Focus on maximizing short-term production to implement innovative methods of doing this within difficult cost and technical constraints, whilst protecting longer term production continuity, meeting HSE standards and forwarding the safety and operational integrity agenda.
