Paragon GE is looking for a Machinist technician Level 3 (local) for a position with an Oil & Gas company in Equatorial Guinea.

Position Title: Machinist technician Level 3 (local)

5-year minimum experienced technician who can design, review and understand/read complex blueprints, component drawings and take high precision measurements; technician must be knowledgeable on material identification, composition and properties as well as basic application of different types of welding technics and mechanical equipment operation.
Skill required for this position

Basic familiarization with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing
Knowledge of how to operate grinders, lathes and milling machines
Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
Oral and written communication skills (ENGLISH)
Analytical and problem-solving and workshop machinery troubleshooting skills
Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents
Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
Able to perform work in the Gas plant, offshore (at height, confined spaces, noisy areas) in a safe manner as established by the Safe work procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
Review samples and instructions to understand specifications of output
Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job and provide accurate estimation of work duration
Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine
Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
