Paragon GE is looking for a Machinist technician Level 3 (local) for a position with an Oil & Gas company in Equatorial Guinea.  

Position Title: Machinist technician Level 3 (local)
Contract Type: Staff
Expected package: To be discussed.
Location: Equatorial Guinea

5-year minimum experienced technician who can design, review and understand/read complex blueprints, component drawings and take high precision measurements; technician must be knowledgeable on material identification, composition and properties as well as basic application of different types of welding technics and mechanical equipment operation.
Skill required for this position
  • Basic familiarization with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing
  • Knowledge of how to operate grinders, lathes and milling machines
  • Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
  • Oral and written communication skills (ENGLISH)
  • Analytical and problem-solving and workshop machinery troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to perform work in the Gas plant, offshore (at height, confined spaces, noisy areas) in a safe manner as established by the Safe work procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
  • Review samples and instructions to understand specifications of output
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job and provide accurate estimation of work duration
  • Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
  • Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
  • Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine
  • Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
