Paragon GE is looking for a Mechanic Heavy Equipment (local) for a position with an Oil & Gas company in Equatorial Guinea.

JOB SUMMARY
A brief statement summarizing the focus or purpose of the job   Performs maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment as directed in an efficient and safe manner.

MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
A numbered list of specific actions for which the jobholder is responsible              
  • Repairs and maintains all trucks, forklifts, CAT earth moving equipment and mobile cranes.
  • Assists with repair and maintenance work on compressors and generators.
  • Assists with maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment, such as Cats, Mack trucks, dump trucks, scrapers – 950 & 320, Volvo, Tadano crane, Lincoln welding machines, water pumps, etc.
  • Repairs and maintains engines, gearbox, clutches, drive shafts, brakes, and general equipment.
  • Determines nature and extent of repairs required and performs major and minor repair on engines, power transmissions, transfers and related electrical, fuel, hydraulic, wheel and engine assemblies.
  • Uses technical manuals and other publications to identify and order repair parts.
  • Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using testing equipment such as compression testers, motor analyzers, test meters, micrometers and gauges.
  • Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Cleans and tidies workshop.
  • Fixes tires on heavy equipment vehicles.
  • Obtains urgently required materials from local suppliers.
  • Supports Marathon's Global Performance System (GPS) and Process Safety Management (PSM) processes by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility. 
  • Serves as an active member in one or more of the Emergency Response Teams, e.g., Fire Brigade, etc.

Job Requirements:         
Academic:
Minimum level of education required- High school or Technical school certificate

Additional Training:
Specific course topics required   Heavy Equipment

Related Work Experience:
Type and duration of prior experienced required               Has attended oil and gas industry related OJT

Specific programs in which the jobholder must be proficient
