Paragon is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer to join our client, an Oil and Gas Operating Company in Egypt.

The CFO is responsible for overseeing the company's financial strategy and planning. This role ensures financial health, compliance with regulations, and alignment of financial practices with organizational goals. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO provides strategic insights to support decision-making and drive growth in the highly dynamic oil and gas industry.

Potential candidates must have extensive experience of the upstream oil and gas industry in Egypt, including experience with upstream Egyptian joint ventures and experience working with shareholders like the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and EGPC. Candidates must also have existing relationships with Banks and other financial institutions.

CFO Scope of work :

Financial Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and implement the company's financial strategy in line with its business objectives.
  • Provide financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans to guide decision-making.
  • Analyze market trends and financial data to identify opportunities and risks.

Financial Management:
  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and treasury management.
  • Ensure effective cash flow management and optimize working capital.
  • Manage capital structure, including debt, equity, and investment strategies.

Regulatory Compliance and Governance:
  • Ensure adherence to local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
  • Oversee internal and external audits and address any findings promptly.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, auditors, and financial institutions.

Risk Management:
  • Identify financial risks and implement robust risk management strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of financial controls and procedures across the organization.

Leadership and Team Development:
  • Lead and mentor the finance team and treasury team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development within the finance department.
  • Collaborate with other executive leaders to align financial goals with operational strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as a primary point of contact for investors, shareholders, and financial institutions
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports to stakeholders and the board of directors.
  • Communicate the financial performance, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders effectively.

Business Growth and Investment:
  • Evaluate and guide investment opportunities, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Support operational efficiency by identifying cost-saving initiatives and resource optimization.
  • Collaborate with operations and commercial teams to enhance profitability and financial performance.
