Paragon GE is looking for a Senior Drilling Engineer-Onshore for a staff position with an E&P company in Egypt.

This is a staff permanent role that will be office based in Cairo

Position Title: Senior Drilling Engineer-Onshore

Role and Responsibilities
  • Preparing time and cost estimates for AFE purposes.
  • Controlling cost by monitoring actual vs. AFE cost and highlighting discrepancies.
  • Prepare conceptual well designs and basis of designs, drilling programs, end of well reports and technical documentation/studies.
  • Preparing drilling programs and end of well reports that are technically sound and meet JV and shareholder requirements.
  • Participating in daily operations meeting.
  • Reviewing technical programs submitted by 3rd party contractors.
  • Carrying out offset well data analysis.
  • Proactively identifying drilling problems and recommending solutions.
  • Provide engineering support to the drilling superintendent on program implementation.
  • Proposes optimum, technical solutions.
  • Maintains contact and lead technical discussions with drilling contractors and third party suppliers.
  • Having a clear understanding of contracts with drilling contractors and subcontractors.
  • Providing relevant information in time for preparation of purchase requisitions in the SAP system.
  • Formulate dispensation requests and management of change.
  • Promoting the continuous improvement process.
  • Monitoring well results vs. objectives and documenting deviations.
  • Initiating and following relevant technical studies.
  • Initiating and leading peer reviews.
  • Compiling and quality controlling all reports received from the operations.
  • Participate in pre-spud meeting in the office & Rig-site.
  • Monitoring and analyzing NPT via the Drilling database system and recommending corrective actions.
  • Reviewing lessons learnt and feed them into the Lessons learned Database system.
  • Supervise and monitor daily drilling operations from rig intake process until well closing reports and ensure safe well delivery.
  • Ensuring process safety, well integrity QHSE.

Job Requirements, Qualifications, Skills
  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
  • 10-year experience in drilling engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in the use of MS office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Landmark Well Engineering Package.
  • Control of Cost/Quality.
  • Teamwork and Leadership.
  • Self-starter/Self Development.
  • Enthusiastic, open and driven individual with strong HSEQ skills.
