Position Title: Senior Exploration Geologist (Egyptian National)

The Senior Exploration Geologist is responsible for providing complex regional geologic frameworks for generating and evaluating play concepts. Proactively identify and generate new geologic exploration opportunities. Identify reliable volumes, risk assessments, and critical subsurface parameters for defined plays. Participate in prospecting activities appropriate to attract exploration investments in areas, such as seismic and acreage uptake.
Evaluating, interpreting and analyzing geological data, creating maps, maintaining appraising discovery and estimating hydrocarbon volumes, reservoir modelling, and conceptual field well planning in order to ensure identification of high grade drilling location and providing geological inputs for safe and cost effective well design.
Responsibilities:
- Provides key technical support towards the Exploration activities for any opportunity in Egypt.
- Work closely with the Geophysicist to upgrade the current maps for the producing assets and the areas nearby.
- Proactively identifies and generates new opportunities in the current development leases.
- Ability to make assessments of geological, geotechnical and geophysical data.
- Experience in clastic, carbonate, and tight reservoirs.
- Solid background in integrating all inputs/ outputs of Sedimentology, Operation geology, reservoir 3D modelling, reservoir engineering data and field development planning, Geomechanics and seismic interpretation.
- Aware of the technology developments concerning subsurface data acquisition and interpretation and subsurface modeling.
- Familiar with well planning including horizontals, well site exposure, petrophysical analysis, core-log integration.
- Conduct regional play studies utilizing basin modeling techniques to enhance understanding of petroleum systems.
- Rank prospects and evaluate their potential using industry-standard methodologies.
- High proficiency with PC and workstation-based applications.
Essential Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology
- At least 15 years of experience in oil and Gas industry. Experience in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs desired
- Strong understanding of prospect ranking methodologies
- Experience working on successful teams and ability to interact and work effectively with cross-functional teams, working interest partners and potential partners
- Exposure to multiple geographical areas and experience working in a multi- cultural, multi- national environment.
- Experience and knowledge in reservoir characterization, fluid characterization, well testing, reservoir simulation, reservoir management, asset management, etc.
- Quantitative experience conducting Resource and Reserve estimates is a plus
- Understanding of industry economics, discounted cash flow modeling, costs, profitability analysis, fiscal systems, and financial drivers
- Ability to take critical decisions and solve problems.
- Ability to work in multicultural and multidiscipline teams.
- Must be bilingual in English and Arabic
