Paragon GE is looking for a Senior Operations Geologist (Egyptian National) for a staff position with an E&P company in Egypt.

This is a staff permanent role that will be office based in Cairo.

Position Overview:

The candidate will participate in geological activities including play reviews, prospect ranking and maturation studies, mapping, log interpretations and correlations, well proposals, participation in multi-disciplinary studies to define and evaluate prospects. Participating in ongoing drilling and workover activities. Follow up closely on all geology related studies carried out by consultants. Provide technical support to the REs and rest of subsurface team.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Data management: Manage digital and non-digital data
  • Support work: Provide support to assess and recommend of new wells
  • Daily Activities: Supporting daily activities by participating in routine G&G daily duties such as well log correlation, mapping and quick-look log analysis.
  • Operational Geologist: Provide support as operational geologist such as daily follow up on ongoing drilling, generating well trajectories, loading the directional data, preparing geological prognosis formation tops and deviation survey matching, post well summaries.
  • Mapping: Assist in Generating and/or updating maps following well drilling.
  • Volumetrics: Perform volumetric and in-place calculation.
  • Field development: Contribute to field development plans through well planning, workover support and assist in generating a life of field hydrocarbon inventory

Essential Experience and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor Degree with 7-12 Years of Experience
  • Basic knowledge of data management.
  • Good experience with historic and non-digital data.
  • Used to participate in routine G&G daily duties; Well log correlation, mapping and quick-look log analysis supporting daily activities.
  • Familiar with operational geology; daily follow up on ongoing drilling, formation tops and deviation survey matching, post well summaries.
  • Practiced brown field maturation and development, been in a multi- disciplinary team, including development wells and recompletions proposing, injection patterns and strategies reviewing, GOS experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Volumetric and in-place calculation.
  • Hands on and willing to learn relevant G&G software; Petrel, Kingdom, Techlog…etc.
  • Ability to take critical decisions and solve problems.
  • Ability to work in multicultural and multidiscipline teams.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Arabic
  • Good communication skills
